I know my 1998 air intake had some serious cracks on the engine vent return line as well as cracks where it connected to the throttle body. I would look at the TPS readings, timing, etc. If yer scanner will capture data, that will be yer best bet as you will be able to look at the data after you git back from a run and figure out from what the sensors are reporting on areas that you can look at. Most often, when a vehicle jerks while slowing down, it is caused by there being an imbalance between the air and fuel going to the engine. You could probably run some BG 44k or some of the more aggressive carbon cleaners.
